Position Title: Marketing and Development Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Development

Location: Scarborough, Maine or partially remote

Job Type: Part Time- 20 hours per week

Pay: $20/hour

The Marketing and Development Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and execution of the Ketcha Outdoors marketing plan and supporting the development department with achieving the organization’s fundraising goals. From developing marketing materials across a variety of audiences, to coordinating organic and paid digital campaigns, this role is a unique opportunity to grow as a well-rounded marketer. Additionally, you will apply your communications skills and attention to detail to help raise important funds for the organization.  We’re looking for candidates with strong project management skills as well as a creative edge, to be able to not only coordinate but actively contribute to the production, update and management of our all Ketcha Outdoor’s marketing assets (print, digital, video).


Organizational Overview:

Since 1964 Ketcha Outdoors has created wonderful memories for youth and adults alike on its spectacular grounds in Scarborough – 107 acres of meadows, forests, streams, and wetlands. Ketcha Outdoors has an ACA accredited summer day camp, a nature based Farm and Forest Preschool, and after school and vacation camps. Ketcha Outdoors also offers beautiful indoor and outdoor rental space, available year-round for DIY weddings, celebrations and events. 


The Marketing and Development Coordinator role will help promote Ketcha Outdoor’s programs, help with reaching Ketcha’s fundraising goals, and support our mission to provide kids of all ages with deep connections to the land, a vibrant community, and the confidence to create their sense of place in the world.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop new material and update existing assets:
    • Create new materials and update existing digital and print materials for Farm and Forest Preschool, PreK program, Summer Camp and facility rentals program
    • Help develop copy and curate visuals for new digital and print content
    • Consolidate web edit requests and maintain and update website
    • Create and implement social media strategy, with the goal to increase our social media presence
    • Start a general e-newsletter; create and design monthly e-newsletter
    • Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects
  • Create materials and lead the charge to market our scholarship availability
  • Support the development department with fundraising copywriting, mailing appeals, maintaining an accurate donor database, and generating timely acknowledgements
  • Implement organic SEO strategies, such as updating and maintaining Ketcha’s google business profile
  • Maintain a curated collection of photos (cross referenced with photo permissions) to use for all marketing and fundraising purposes
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Knowledge Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business management or related field or 1-2 years’ experience in marketing or related function 
  • Skill Requirements
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills 
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • Experience in basic graphic design and fluency in the Adobe Software suite (specifically, InDesign, Photoshop) and Canva
    • Experience with simple video editing (iMovie, Premiere, Windows Movie Maker a plus)
    • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
    • Comfortable with web-based project management tools and collaboration technologies
    • Creative problem solving with a “can-do mentality”
    • Flexible, can embrace changing priorities in a rapidly evolving work and market environment 
    • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to function and make decisions in a dynamic work environment with strong attention to detail and organization
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
