Spandits

In by Sarah Doscinski

We started Spandits in 2012 to help people get outside and do the things they love. We’re mothers, running coaches and marathoners. Not only do we have active lives, but we also interact daily with athletes and hear their input regarding what they look for in quality athletic apparel. We’ve worked hard to select high-quality fabrics and customize a fit that reflects that feedback. All of our spandex material is environmentally-friendly; the only waste product may be recycled. We’re upgrading materials with Repreve, which is one of the earth-friendly fibers available. It is a trusted, branded performance fiber made from recycled plastic bottles. We are not operating a sweatshop. We are a Maine-based, women-owned business. Each piece you order is designed and cut by us, made with care from start to finish by local stitchers headquartered in Maine, and inspected by us, the owners, before we ship to customers. Our production team consists of ourselves, the owners, a consultant that has assisted us with digitizing patterns and tech packs for production, as well as our stitchers. We receive the majority of our orders online. We primarily operate out of Vienna, Maine. Our product line includes accessories such as headbands, fleece-lined headbands and neck warmers, hats, dresses, skirts, shorts and every length and thickness of tight, including thermal tights and fleece-lined Icelandic tights. We offer products for women, men and youth.
