Duluth Pack Partners with Historic Axe Company to Celebrate the Opening of BWCA and Father’s Day Duluth Pack X Brant & Cochran Father’s Day Promotion May 1st – June 1st 2026
Over the years, Duluth Pack has collaborated with many different brands. From hunting brands to outdoor brands to production companies. This year, in celebration of Father’s Day and the opening of the BWCA season, Duluth Pack is partnering with Brant & Cochran, a historic axe company from Maine.
Who Is Brant & Cochran?Brant & Cochran was founded in 2015 when Steve Ferguson, unable to find a high-quality American-made axe for his godson heading to forestry school, teamed up with his brother Mark and partner Barry Worthing to revive the tradition of axe making in Maine, once a major hub for the craft. The company’s mission is to preserve and restore this heritage The company’s name honours their grandfather, Leland Ferguson, whose life story reflects hard work and ingenuity. From leaving a Kentucky farm at 18 to working as a master mechanic for Ford Motor Company and Fisher Body during World War II, and later building a successful business restoring and selling military surplus machine tools, known as Brant & Cochran.

About the Packs:#2 Original Pack came out of a need in the Duluth trades community and was the original design created and patented by Duluth Pack’s founder, Camille Poirier. It was originally called the ‘C. Poirier Pack Sack’ and features a unique tumpline design, which was the founding design of Duluth Pack. The Outlander Pack was created as a variation of the Bushcrafter, designed by founder and head instructor Mike Lummio of Bushcraft Northwest. Duluth Pack shrunk it down & tweaked it into the premier, adventure-ready pack.
About the Axe:
The Hudson Bay Axe has its roots in the trade axes used by voyageurs and trappers in the north woods and is still used by those canoeing the Allagash, the Boundary Waters of Minnesota or the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. The Voyageur axe head is patterned after a vintage Maine-forged Snow & Nealley Hudson Bay axe made in Bangor in the 1930’s.Duluth Pack and Brant & Cochran created a custom version of this axe featuring a combined logo. The logo shows a Moose and a Star. The Moose representing Duluth Pack and the Star representing the Northland, paying homage to the Marshall Wells Company, which sold Duluth Pack products and the iconic Zenith axe.
This promotion will run on a pre-order basis from May 1st to June 1st. For More Information:
